Nathan is a former federal and state banking regulator with nearly 20 years of banking experience. An alumnus of the OCC’s prestigious New York Metro Field Office, he has examined banks for safety & soundness, compliance, and BSA/AML, and served as Analyst to the Examiner-in-Charge of a $12B publicly traded bank. At the Texas Department of Savings and Mortgage Lending, he developed and implemented a first-of-its-kind regulatory examination program that was endorsed as a model for other states by the FDIC’s Chairman. He also authored state banking laws and regulations, successfully negotiating them through the legislative and rulemaking process. Nathan served on the Board of the Southwest Assoc. of Bank Counsel and as in-house counsel at community and fintech banks. He advised some of the nation's largest banks while in private practice.
After earning a B.B.A., he graduated from The University of Texas School of Law. During law school, he interned for The Hon. Xavier Rodriguez, U.S. District Judge and the Texas Senate, and was a staff editor for the Texas Hispanic Journal of Law & Policy. He is proud to be the only intern Judge Rodriguez has invited back for a subsequent internship due to exceptional performance.
He enjoys mountain biking and is proud to be a direct descendant of a signer of the Texas Declaration of Independence.
